Privacy Policy
Koi Drift has no accounts. You never give us your name, email address or any login. This page says exactly what the game keeps, what it sends, and why.
What stays on your device
Your progress — ponds cleared, cards earned, coins, settings, language, whether you own the Drifter’s Pass — is stored in your browser’s or the app’s local storage on your device. It is not uploaded. If you clear the site’s data or uninstall the app, it is gone; there is no server copy to restore from.
What the game sends to us
Gameplay statistics
The game records simple events — “pond cleared”, “hint used”, “app opened” — with a timestamp and sends them in batches to a server we run on Cloudflare. To tell one device’s events from another’s, the game makes up a random identifier the first time it runs and stores it on your device. That identifier is not linked to you, your phone, your account with anyone, or any advertising identifier. We use these statistics to see which ponds are too hard, which features are used, and whether an update broke something.
The Daily ranking
When you clear the Daily, the game sends the date, your time and your number of moves to the same server so it can tell you how you rank against other players that day. No name is attached; the ranking shows a position and a percentage, not who you are.
Purchases
If you buy the Drifter’s Pass in the Android app, the purchase is made through Google Play. Google handles payment; we never see your card or bank details. The app sends the purchase token Google issues to our server so it can confirm with Google that the purchase is genuine, and our server returns a signed confirmation to the app. We keep no purchase history beyond what Google Play itself keeps.
Advertising (Android app only)
The Android app can show a rewarded video from Google AdMob when you choose to watch one for a second chance. To do that, the Google Mobile Ads SDK runs in the app and may use your device’s advertising identifier, as described in Google’s privacy policy. You can reset or limit that identifier in your Android settings. The web version at koidrift.com shows no ads today; if that changes, this page will say so before it does.
Website analytics
koidrift.com uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without tracking you across sites.
Cookies
The game sets no cookies. It uses local storage, described above, for your progress and settings, and the service worker caches the game so it works offline.
Children
Koi Drift is suitable for everyone and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. There are no chat features, no user-generated content and no way to contact other players inside the game.
Your choices
- Clear the site data in your browser, or the app’s storage on Android, to delete everything the game stores on your device, including the random identifier.
- Reset or delete your advertising identifier in Android settings.
- Write to us at the address below to ask what our server holds against a random identifier, or to have it deleted. You can find your identifier in the game’s log viewer (long-press the logo on the start screen).
Changes
If we change what the game collects, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change reaches you.
